Solo Exhibition by Nikas Safronov, Selected Works – March 30 till May 26, 2013

Нікас Сафронов - автопортретA solo exhibition by artist Nikas Safronov, titled Selected Works, will be held in the Regional Center of Culture and Art in Kharkiv from March 30 till May 26, 2013. The still life paintings, portraits, landscapes and surreal narrative compositions are presented to public, more than 90 works in total.

The main purpose of the solo exhibition is strengthening of cultural ties between Ukraine and Russia, as well as Kharkiv viewers’ familiarizing with the artist’s paintings, for whom the essence of life perception is reflected in the architectural landscapes, portraits and still life paintings.

Nikas Safronov is one of the most prominent contemporary Russian artists, working equally successfully in many genres. The viewers are familiar with his works by magazine reproductions, as most of his paintings are in private collections in Russia and abroad, as well as in museums of Western Europe and America. The solo exhibitions by Nikas Safronov are held throughout Russia. Many exhibitions are held abroad.

Today, most of the artist’s works are in private collections and museums in Russia and Europe. Western collectors have bought more than 800 of his paintings. There are celebrities among the owners of his paintings, such as Sophia Loren, Alain Delon, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Pierre Cardin, Diana Ross, Montserrat Caballe, Madonna, Mikhail Gorbachev, Nikita Mikhalkov. He painted the portraits of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, the former President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, the former U.S. Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, the King of Spain Juan Carlos I, the King of Jordan, the King of Brunei and more than 15 presidents of other countries, Muslim Magomayev, Alla Pugacheva, Mstislav Rostropovich, Sophia Loren, Julio Iglesias, Diana Ross, Montserrat Caballe, Luciano Pavarotti, Jack Nicholson, Sting, Elton John, Mick Jagger, Steven Seagal, Richard Gere, Pierre Richard, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Annie Girardot, Mike Tyson, Clint Eastwood, David Bowie, Robert De Niro, Chris de Burgh, Elizabeth Taylor, Steven Spielberg, Tina Turner, Madonna, Leonardo DiCaprio and many other foreign and domestic celebrities. The artist and his creative team plan to hold solo exhibitions in all major cities of Ukraine.
