On April 26, 1986, one of the most terrible man-made disasters in world history took place - the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. After the explosions in the 4th reactor, radioactive substances escaped, poisoning the air, land, water, and all living things that were around in a radius of many kilometers. Due to criminal silence on the part of the USSR government, for a certain time the population did not know either about the accident or its terrible consequences, which further increased the scale of the tragedy.
- Almost 40 years later, this problem remains relevant. A large number of environmentally dangerous industrial facilities and weapons of mass destruction, constant pollution of the environment, create many risks, including for the existence of humanity itself.
- New challenges are also emerging for our country. Due to Russian aggression, both nuclear plants and other energy facilities remain in danger, the consequences of their destruction could be catastrophic both for Ukraine and for the whole world.
- Artists from different cities of Ukraine took part in the exhibition, presenting their artistic vision of the Chernobyl tragedy and its consequences. The purpose of the "Reaction" exhibition is to honor the heroism of the liquidators of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, to draw attention to the negative impact of human man-made activities on nature, and to raise awareness of the risks of man-made disasters in connection with war.
