When the war started, no one was ready for it! Everything that was our life before that has disappeared. Only explosions, arrivals, sirens remained. Lack of products, electricity, communication, water and heat. We felt that the ground was falling from under our feet. And they didn't know what to do with it...
At that time, we understood: children need to feel supported, to be able to express all their feelings, to free their little hearts from pain and negativity.
It was then that our project "Little stories in the drawings of children of Kharkiv region" was born. Later - "Children who see war". The authors of the idea and the main organizers were the teachers of the art and animation departments of the School of Modern Theater and Stage Directions Hlushych L.O. and Hlushych A.O. The project was supported by the director of the school Murzina Z.M.. Other teachers of the school and children of the Kharkiv branch of the world organization Syorindzi-Kempo and the Kharkiv Art Lyceum joined in the participation.
Our meetings with students were held online starting from March-April 2022 and were filled with the warmth of our hearts. Children wrote their stories, talked, drew. With each sheet, the pain receded, the children became happier. And when fears took us captive again, we fought them together, finding the right examples and words!
Time has passed... We have learned to live in war conditions, we no longer respond to sirens, we are not afraid of arrivals. We conduct classes, participate in festivals and competitions. We all dream of a happy life after victory, studying at our native school. Together we will make childhood safe and smiling faces!
